Champion Trainer Charlie Lister set another Betfair East Anglian Greyhound Derby record by being the first trainer, since the event came under national rules in nineteen seventy five, to be responsible for three out of the six finalists. Lister was also attempting to record his tenth event win and thanks to Betfair’s involvement, another £20,000 winners prize.

When the traps opened for the main Betfair race, the Charlie Lister trio, Jordansoilutions returned 2/1 favourite, with the Stadium Bookmakers, Farloe Reason 3/1 and Fear Zafonic, 9/2 made a swift exit, with the outsider Fear Zafonic making the early running. Wide running Droopys Bogart just got touched at the first turn, on the outside of Jordansoilutions and Farloe Reason, the Lister pair made a strong challenge to kennel companion Fear Zafonic, to the third bend, they raced on to the home straight where Fear Zafonic proved equal to the challenge, winning in a time of 27.57 one and three lengths ahead of Jordansoilutions, with Farloe Reason another three quarters of  a length back, giving Trainer Charlie Lister a record equalling first three home, also an unheard of tenth, East Anglian Greyhound Derby winner
